In a pivotal meeting held in Bahrain on Sunday, Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), articulated India's firm stance against terrorism, directly accusing Pakistan of being an aggressor rather than a victim. This meeting is part of a broader initiative where seven multi-party parliamentary delegations from India are visiting various foreign capitals to present a united front regarding terrorism and to counter Pakistan's narrative.

Owaisi's remarks were particularly aimed at shedding light on Pakistan's alleged double standards concerning terrorism. He emphasized that Islamabad has consistently supported and harbored cross-border terrorism, which has had devastating impacts on India. “Pakistan is an aggressor and not a victim. In today's meeting, we presented India’s side. We told them that for many years, terrorists aided and trained by Pakistan have been carrying out terror attacks in India, and many people have lost their lives,” Owaisi stated, highlighting the tragic toll of incidents such as the Mumbai blasts, train bombings, and the recent Pulwama and Pathankot attacks.

Furthermore, he conveyed to Bahraini officials that the acts of terrorism aimed at destabilizing India pose a significant threat not only to India but to the entire South Asian region. “We told them that the efforts being made to destabilize India are not right. This is detrimental not just for India but for the whole region," Owaisi remarked. He also acknowledged the presence of a large Indian community in Bahrain, noting that the local government recognized and appreciated the contributions made by Indians.

This diplomatic outreach comes on the heels of Operation Sindoor, a recent initiative taken by India to root out terrorism, which has seen increased international focus on the issue. The Indian delegations aim to expose Pakistan's role in fostering terrorism while reinforcing India’s identity as a responsible, peace-seeking democracy. Owaisi was part of a delegation led by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Baijayant Jay Panda and included several notable figures such as BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former Indian diplomat Harsh Shringla.
