The establishment of this party comes in the wake of Musk's poll on Independence Day, which asked his followers whether he should continue with his proposal to create the America Party as an alternative to both the Republican and Democratic parties. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with over 1.25 million voters participating and more than 65% endorsing the idea of moving forward. In his post, Musk remarked, "Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system!"
