In a groundbreaking move for digital creativity, Google has launched its Veo 3 AI model, which powers the Gemini service, allowing users to transform photos into engaging videos. Introduced during the I/O 2025 event held in May, this innovative feature is now accessible in over 150 countries, including India, as part of the Gemini AI Pro and Ultra plans. The sheer convenience of generating an 8-second video from simple prompts and images is set to revolutionize how individuals share memories and concepts through visual storytelling.

According to Google, users can effortlessly create short videos within minutes using the Gemini platform. The process is remarkably straightforward: users simply describe their vision, upload their chosen images, and watch as their ideas come alive in motion. Whether for personal enjoyment, social sharing, or professional presentations, Gemini aims to make video creation both accessible and enjoyable.

To utilize this exciting feature on Gemini AI, users need to have a personal account and be subscribed to either the Gemini AI Pro or Ultra plans. However, it is worth noting that this functionality is not available to individuals under the age of 18. Users interested in creating AI-generated videos can follow a few simple steps:

  • Open the Google Gemini website on your personal computer.
  • Click on the Video icon located below the text input box.
  • Select 'Add image' to upload the photo you wish to convert into a video.
  • Once your image is selected, click on 'Submit' to generate your video.

Google specifies that the videos produced through this feature will have a duration of 8 seconds and may take between 1 to 2 minutes to generate. It's crucial for users to upload only those images for which they possess usage rights, as compliance with copyright regulations remains a priority.

Despite the exciting capabilities that Gemini offers, it's important to note that the service is not entirely free. While currently available for users in select regions with the paid subscription, there is speculation that Google may expand access to all personal accounts in the future.

Additionally, this feature is not accessible to users located in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, limiting its availability even for those with subscriptions in these regions.

In India, the Veo 3 AI model, which allows for the creation of videos with audio, has been bundled with the Gemini AI Pro plan. The monthly subscription for this plan is priced at Rs 1,950, positioning it competitively against similar offerings such as OpenAI's ChatGPT Plus, which is available for Rs 1,900 per month.

For those eager to explore the world of AI-enhanced video creation, the Gemini platform provides an intriguing glimpse into the future of digital content creation, emphasizing user-friendly tools that empower creativity.
