It was a typical Saturday morning until emergency services rushed to the scene around 2:20 AM, responding to frantic reports of an assault. Once they arrived, they found a 30-year-old woman suffering from serious stab wounds to her upper body. Paramedics from New South Wales Ambulance quickly sprang into action, transporting her to St Vincent’s Hospital for urgent surgery.

But the chaos didn’t end there. A brave 27-year-old colleague, who attempted to intervene during the shocking attack, also sustained injuries and was taken to the same hospital. Talk about a scene straight out of a crime thriller!

Meanwhile, the alleged attacker, a 31-year-old woman, was apprehended at the hotel and taken to Day Street police station. She now faces charges of grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and assault. Chief Inspector Gary Coffey addressed the media, stating that while they could not confirm the exact motive, it appeared to stem from a dispute within their work environment. “At this stage, we’re unable to confirm the exact motive for this crime, other than all three persons involved in this incident are co-workers,” he explained.

Describing the attack as “frenzied,” Coffey noted how fortunate it was that the situation didn’t escalate into something even more tragic. It’s a reminder of how quickly tensions can boil over in high-stress environments.

The InterContinental Hotel chose not to comment on the incident, leaving many questions unanswered.

As for the alleged attacker, she has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear before Parramatta local court on Sunday. This shocking event shines a light on the darker side of workplace dynamics and raises concerns about employee well-being.
